Thai Couple killed by lightning while on honeymoon
A couple Kawewong and Ratchaya Tantranon were married July
10 and were near the Grand Canyon as part of a West Coast tour for their
honeymoon reportedly killed July 23 by a bolt of lightning at a scenic overlook
in Fredonia. The two were on their honeymoon at the time.
Coconino County authorities said the couple was from
Chiang-Mai in northern Thailand and were both 20. A cousin of Kawewong,
Jeralynn Kozak, says the couple’s remains are still in Coconino County awaiting
cremation and they’ll be sent back to Thailand for burial.
