Khmer Anti-Poverty Party to Hold Demonstration to Protest Election Results

Anti-Poverty Party (KAPP) has issued a notification dated 6 August, announcing
to hold a non-violent demonstration on August 11 to protest against the results
of the July 28 general election, which it claimed abounded with many irregularities,
and to demand reelection.
In the notification,
the KAPP said the demonstration would be attended by 600 people coming from the
provinces of Kandal, Kampong Cham, Prey Veng, Svay Rieng, Banteay Meanchey, Takeo
and Phnom Penh capital.
The KAPP has applied
for permission to hold the protest from the Phnom Penh Municipal authorities,
but has yet received official approval.
