Opposition Leader Visits Olympic Market Vendors
Cambodia (Koker) - Leader of the opposition Cambodia national Rescue Party (CNRP) visited vendors at market in Phnom Penh capital this morning.CNRP President Sam Rainsy told reporters at the time that the purpose of his visit to Olympic market was to express thanks to voters for their support to the CNRP in the recent parliamentary election.
On the occasion, Mr. Sam Rainsy also denied information about the opposition party planning to hold a mass demonstration to protest the election results at Phnom Penh's the Freedom Park early next week.
"The meeting to be held early next week will be just a normal meeting with the voters, not a demonstration," he said.
The CNRP on August 21 issued a notification saying its president Sam Rainsy and vice-president Kem Sokha would hold a meeting with voters at the Freedom Park on Monday, August 26, 2013 at 4:00 p.m.
