Governor of Malaysia’s Malacca State Pays Courtesy Call on Cambodian Premier
Cambodia (Kohker) - Visiting Governor of Malaysia’s State of Malacca Mr. Tun
Datuk Seri Utama Mohd Khalil bin Yaakob paid a courtesy call visit on Cambodian
Prime Minister Hun Sen at the Peace Palace this morning.
During the meeting, the governor of Malacca informed Prime
Minister Hun Sen that the purpose of his visit to Cambodia is to seek
investment opportunities in the country and to study the management of the
Historic Site of Angkor, which is one of the World Heritage Sites, Mr. Ieng
Sophalet, assistant to the Cambodian premier, told reporters following the
meeting.
Mr. Tun Datuk Seri Utama Mohd Khalil bin Yaakob expressed
his high appreciation to Cambodia’s development in all fields, especially the
tourism sector.
Prime Minister Hun Sen told his guest that Cambodia’s
economic growth is expected to reach around 7.6 percent this year, and that the
country has been boosting more investment in infrastructure construction and the
agricultural sector.
Cambodia had been trying its best to attract Malaysian
investors to do investment in Cambodia, especially in rice processing for
export, said the Cambodian premier.
