CPP Reacts To CNRP's Planned Protest
Cambodia (Kohker) - The ruling Cambodian People's Party (CPP) has issued a statement saying the opposition Cambodia National Rescue Party's plan to hold a mass demonstration on September 7 to protest the election results would have an impact on the people's peaceful lives, oppose the voters' will expressed through ballots, and is an intention to destroy "an election that national and international opinions said to have proceeded in a free, peaceful and transparent manner.
In the statement dated today, the CPP also appealed to the CNRP to put the interests of the national and people above all else and to join with the CPP in resolving the remaining issues. It also calls on the people to remain patient, calm and to maintain peace and social stability.
