CNRP Decides to Hold Non-Violence Demonstration
Cambodia (Kohker) - Vice-President of the opposition Cambodia National Rescue Party (CNRP) Mr. Kem Sokha posted a statement on his personal Facebook account an hours ago, announcing that the CNRP had decided to hold a non-violent demonstration to protest the results of the recent general election on September 7, one day before the National Election Committee is scheduled to officially announce the election results."Please, brothers and sisters, wait for further information very soon, " concluded the statement.
In the meantime, the CNRP has also released a press statement dated August 28, 2013, inviting journalists to a press conference to be held at the party's headquarters located at Chak Angre commune, Meanchey district, Phnom Penh on August 29 at 9 a.m.
The topics of the meeting are measures to resolve election irregularities and preparation to organize non-violent demonstration on September 7, 2013, said the statement.
