CPP and CNRP Agree to Establish Independent Investigation Group to investigate election irregularities

Cambodia - Senior officials of the ruling Cambodian People's Party and opposition Cambodia National Rescue Party met this morning (9 August 2013) to discuss measures to establish an independent investigation group to investigate irregularities that happened before and on the polling day of July 28.
After two-hour meeting held at the National Assembly, the two parties decided to look into possibilities to choose NGOs that has expertise and experience in election to work in the technical group with representatives from the UN, national and international organization as observers, according to the CNRP's statement released on the same day.
