NA President Calls on people to remain calm
Cambodia (Kohker) - President of the National Assembly of the Kingdom of Cambodia has made an appeal to all the people to remain calm and not to participate in any demonstration that might be staged by the opposition party to protest the results of the recent general election, in order to avoid causing violence and social insecurity.
National Assembly President Samdach Heng Samrin made the appeal while attending a religious ceremony at a pagoda in Kok commune, Punhea Krek district of Kampong Cham province on the morning of August 19.
The Royal government would maintain its continuity and he would remain president of the National Assembly to develop the country in the next term, asserted Samdech Heng Samrin.
The National Assembly president also thanked the people for their continuous support to the ruling Cambodian People’s Party in the fifth parliamentary election held on July 28.
