New Zealand Governor General Visits Cambodia
Governor General of New Zealand Lt Gen Rt Hon Sir Jerry Mateparae arrived on 8 August for a five-day State visit in Cambodia to boost bilateral relations and cooperation. The visit was made at the invitation of Cambodian King His Majesty Norodom Sihamoni, according to a press statement from Cambodia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.During his stay in the Kingdom, Lt Gen Rt Hon Sir Jerry Mateparae will be received in royal audience by His Majesty the King at the Royal Palace, and have separate meetings with President of the National Assembly Samdach Akka Moha Ponhea Chakrei Heng Samrin, Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, and First Vice-President of the Senate H.E Say Chhum, the press statement said.
During his stay, the Governor General of New Zealand will also visit the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum, the Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia (ECCC) in Phnom Penh, and Angkor Temples in Siem Reap province.
