Monk Attempts to Set Himself on Fire
Cambodia (Kohker) - A Buddhist monk attempted
unsuccessfully to set himself on fire on the CNPR’s platform in front of
thousands of demonstrators at the Freedom Park this morning.
After making a speech in which he
called on the international community to help find justice for Cambodia, which,
he said, is suffering destruction caused by the current leader, Venerable Seng
Dina took out a bottle of gasoline from his bag and tried to pour it on himself,
but CNRP officials stopped him from doing so on time.
“I want to set myself on fire in
order to show the international community that there is injustice in Cambodian
society under Mr. Hun Sen’s leadership,” he said.
