Cambodian Prime Minister Meets His Chinese and Vietnamese Counterparts
Cambodia (Kohker) – Prime Minister
Hun Sen on September 2 held a bilateral talk with Chinese Prime Minister Li
Keqiang, on the sidelines of the 10th ASEAN-China Expo in Nanning capital
of China’s Guangxi province, according to the National Television of Cambodia
(TVK).
During the meeting, the Cambodian
Prime Minister and his Chinese counterpart expressed their appreciation to the
development of both countries’ cooperation in various fields under the
Comprehensive Strategic Partnership of Cooperation.
Both sides also agreed to boost more
cooperation between the Cambodian People’s Party and the Communist Party of
China.
The Chinese Premier announced to
provide an interest-free loan of 200 million Yuan (roughly over US$32.6
million) to Cambodia in addition to its yearly assistance project to Cambodia
agreed in April this year.
On the same
day, Premier Hun Sen also met with his Vietnamese counterpart Mr. Nguyen Tan Dung. The two leaders praised the
good tie of friendship and cooperation between the two neighboring countries.
The Vietnamese prime minister
expressed his congratulation to the Cambodian People’s Party on its victory in
the recent general election, saying that the new royal government under the
leadership of Prime Minister Hun Sen will bring more development to Cambodia.
“The progress of Cambodia is also the progress
of other countries in the region,” Mr. Nguyen Tan Dung said.
