Ministry of Interior Informs Local Authorities of the Current Situation

CPP’s Announcement Of Support To Official Election Results
Cambodia (Kohker) – Immediately after
the National Election Committee (NEC) announced the official results of the
July 28 general election this morning, the ruling Cambodian People’s Party
(CPP) released a statement, expressing its support to the election results.
“The election of the National
Assembly Members for the fifth Legislature held on July 28, 2013 proceeded
freely and fairly in accordance with the
CNRP Rejects Final Election Results, Announces Further Mass Protests
Cambodia (Kohker) -
Opposition Cambodia National Rescue Party (CNRP) has rejected the official
results of the recent election as announced by the National Election Committee
(NEC) this morning.
“The CNRP does not recognize and does
not support the results of the election as announced this morning by the NEC,”
CNRP President Sam Rainsy said at a press conference this afternoon, “because
the results does not reflect the will of the people and are unfair for them. So
we still continue our protest in order to find the truth, especially to demand
the establishment of an independent commission to investigate and to find the
truth in order to render justice to the voters.”
NEC Announces Official Results of Election
The National Election Committee (NEC) released
the official results of the July 28 general election this morning, handing
victory to the ruling Cambodian People’s Party (CPP) of Prime Minister Hun Sen.
