Cambodia Angkor Air Launches Regular Flights to Guangzhou City
Cambodia (AKP) - Cambodia Angkor
Air, the national carrier of Cambodia, began yesterday regular flights to
Guangzhou City of Guangdong province, China.
H.E. Tekret Samrach, Board
Chairman of the Cambodia Angkor Air, said the launching was aimed at attracting
more Chinese tourists and businessmen.
Cambodia Angkor Air will flight
from Siem Reap province, home to Angkor temples, to Guangzhou by using Airbus
A321 with 176 seats, he added.
The Chinese ranked third on the
list of foreign visitors to Cambodia after the Vietnamese and the South
Koreans. According to a data, during the first seven months of this year, some
267,500 Chinese tourists had visited the Kingdom, an increase by 49 percent if
compared to the same period last year.
The Cambodia Angkor Air
officially launched its operations in July 2009 and currently, the airline has
two ATR-72 aircraft and three Airbus 321 planes. It is operating domestic flights
as well as international flights to neighboring countries such as Vietnam and
Thailand.
